Huynh Thanh Huy is an outstanding graduate of APU American International School and The American University in Vietnam - AUV. Afterwards, Thanh Huy earned his Master’s degree in finance and is currently working at Deloitte Group, one of the four biggest consulting and auditing companies in the world.
Speaking about the journey of achieving his dream of studying in the US and the goal of working in a successful finance company, Thanh Huy says: “Attending the American University in Vietnam - AUV to pursue my dream of becoming a financial expert was one of the best decisions I have ever made.” Huy was able to receive an international standard education with transferable credits to leading universities worldwide while he was still in Vietnam, saving money and time in the process. After studying at AUV for 2 years, he transferred to UMKC to finish Bachelor’s degree and continued on to earn the Master's degree in Finance, majoring in financial analysis.
It is also an important stepping stone for Huy to take the next remarkable steps in his career. Huy tells us "I was provided with a wide range of skills, knowledge, and confidence when studying at APU and AUV. Two years later, I completed my bachelor's degree and continued to earn the Master's degree in Financial Analysis with distinction. I believe APU and AUV established a perfect American educational environment in Vietnam, contributing to my achievement today.”
With his high level of effort and preparation, we believe that Thanh Huy will achieve more prestigious goals in his career. We also hope that Huy’s sharing will inspire many APU and AUV generations as well as giving them extra motivation to face the exciting new challenges ahead.

Pham Thi Ngoc Bich - a former student at The American University in Vietnam - AUV, successfully transferred to Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) with double majors in Business and Graphic Design, without taking IELTS, GMAT or TOEFL.
Studying for a dual major is challenging for many students due to its pressure. There are roughly twice as many classes to take at once, however, this is a great opportunity for Ngoc Bich to practice discipline and develop time management skills. Earning both degrees in business and graphic design at the same time allows her to graduate in the least amount of time possible, saving between six and eight years. Furthermore, there is a strong relationship between graphic design and business; they complement each other and help each other advance. Additionally, Bich would likely have extra benefits in the future workplace due to the varied knowledge base she has acquired thanks to her dual majors.
Located in Richmond, Virginia, VCU is one of the top 3 public research universities in the state with more than 200 programs across diverse professions and attracting students from all 50 states and more than 100 countries around the world. Moreover, VCU has been a significant academic partner with APU & AUV for many years, granting our students amazing USA study opportunities.
Congratulations, Ngoc Bich, and may her upcoming journey at VCU prepare her well for a promising future.

Luong Hong Nhat Tan, a brilliant APU Alumni graduating in the class of 2015 with impressive accomplishments. After graduating from APU, he continued to study at the American University in Vietnam - AUV before transfering to the University of Missouri-Kansas City (UMKC). Later then, he continued to pursue a Graduate Diploma in Commerce at The University of New South Wales (UNSW) which is ranked 2nd in Australia. and a Master of Business degree in Human Resource Management at Griffith University (top 2 percent of universities globally). He is currently working as an HR Executive in Sydney. "Studying at APU and AUV was a very important event in my academic career. APU, AUV and Dr. Binh Tran provided me with an American academic structure where the courses I undertook at APU and AUV were equivalent and eligible to transfer to American universities. APU also had some great college preparation programs (College Bridge Program - CBP), which included some courses that counted towards my Bachelor's degree at UMKC even from the time I was still at APU. I feel that was valuable to me and to my classmates at that time as we were already prepared in terms of knowledge and class experience. Especially, in terms of knowledge, English language, communication skills - all of those that I learned from APU have been always supporting me during my undergraduate studies, postgraduate studies, and also professional careers. Besides, APU gave me different flexibilities where I could have options while completing my high school diploma compared to traditional Vietnamese high schools where students were not offered any flexibility in their studies." - Tan shared proudly when asked about his high school in Vietnam.
